Spring Declutter Challenge Task 2: Entryway Reset

Welcome back to the 2nd task of first week of the Spring Declutter Challenge!  Last task, we started with intention by writing down our “why.” Now, we’re diving into the first physical space in your home: the entryway.

Why start here?
Because your entryway is the first thing you—and your guests—see. It sets the tone for your entire home. A tidy, functional entry helps you feel calm, welcomed, and ready for the day.

The Task: Declutter Your Entryway

Spend just 15–20 minutes clearing out this small but mighty area. Here’s what to focus on:

Shoes: Keep only the pairs you wear daily. Store or donate the rest.

Outerwear: Hang only seasonal jackets or coats. Relocate extras to a closet.

Mail & Paper: Recycle junk mail, shred outdated items, and sort important papers.

Keys & Catch-Alls: Use a small tray or bowl to contain keys and essentials.

Even if your entry is just a small corner or hallway, tidying it up will give you a big mental boost!

 Downsizing Tip:

If you’re planning to move to a smaller space, now’s the time to start thinking in terms of function over volume. Ask yourself:
Would I take this to my next home? If not, thank it and let it go.

 Get Involved!

Take a before & after photo of your entryway and share it in the comments on social media.
Don’t forget to tag a friend and use #SpringDeclutterChallenge for a chance to win a $100 gift card of your choice!

🌟 Quick Wins, Big Impact:

Here are 3 one-liner tips to help keep this task light and doable:

“Less mess by the door means less stress overall.”

“Give your keys a happy home—no more morning scrambles!”

“Shoes off, peace on.”

Let today’s reset be the fresh breath your home deserves.
